Extensive training has enabled Raffi Hovsepian, M.D., to offer his patients something known as the "Bioengineered Breast" approach. This incorporates individually selected implants and regenerative materials, in addition to fat grafting and tissue-specific pocket maneuvers, allowing him to create more precise results.

He is also able to create new surgical spaces, like the "neopectoral pocket," into which form-stable "Tear Drop" or "Gummy Bear" implants can be placed. This gives you the ability to exercise an increased amount of control over the look, feel, and overall shape of your new implants.

A regenerative matrix material can also be added as a tissue "thickener," implant stabilizer, or capsule deterrent, to help ensure a successful revision procedure. The Breast Revision Surgery

Before your procedure, Dr. Hovsepian and his highly trained aesthetic team will ensure that you understand your procedure and recovery process thoroughly. He’ll answer all your questions, as privacy, safety, and comfort, are the hallmarks of Dr. Hovsepian’s patient experience. You’ll need to begin fasting eight hours prior to your procedure, which means you won’t be able to eat or drink anything during this period, including chewing gum or drinking water.

If you have been instructed by Dr. Hovsepian to take any medications in the morning, this is permitted with a few sips of water.

Breast revision surgery is performed under general anesthesia and typically takes a few hours to complete. You should expect to spend extra time in the operating room if your procedure will focus on multiple areas.

In many cases, Dr. Hovsepian is able to utilize the incisions that were made as part of your original procedure, so as to avoid any additional scarring.

Some of our patients prefer an overnight stay, while our out-of-town guests will be accommodated in a nearby hotel or aftercare facility, where a "private duty" nurse will be available for you, if required.
