The eyes are the focus of your face and one of the first characteristics people notice about you. Cosmetic surgery of the upper eyelid, or upper blepharoplasty, restores a natural, more youthful contour to the upper eyelid by removing excess skin that causes hooding or upper lid bags, resulting in a tired appearance.

Before your procedure, Dr. Hovsepian and his aesthetic team will meet with you to make sure you understand your procedure and recovery thoroughly. He will also answer any questions you may have. Safety, privacy, comfort, and excellence in treatment with trusting compassionate care are the hallmark of Dr. Hovsepian’s patient experience.
You will need to begin fasting 8 hours prior to your procedure, which means you cannot eat or drink anything at all during this period, including chewing gum or drinking water prior to coming into the Beverly Hills surgery center. If you have been instructed by Dr. Hovsepian to take any medications in the morning, this is permitted with a few sips of water.
Upper eyelid surgery is performed under general anesthesia, meaning you will be asleep and feel nothing during surgery. The surgery is performed as an outpatient procedure, but some patients prefer an overnight stay. Out-of-town patients may stay in a near-by aftercare facility or hotel. The surgery itself takes about an hour, although you should expect to spend extra time in the operating room if your procedure will focus on multiple areas. Afterward, you will return to your home, hotel or aftercare facility located a short distance from the surgical center.
