A short chin can be brought out by these implants, adding symmetry and harmony to facial aesthetics. Many times Dr. Hovsepian may recommend chin surgery to a patient having nose surgery (rhinoplasty) in order to achieve facial proportion or symmetry; as the size of the chin may magnify or minimize the perceived size of the nose. Furthermore, chin surgery can strengthen the jawline in combination with a facelift or neck lift.

Passionate about providing his patients with the best possible care while utilizing the most innovative advancements in plastic surgery, Raffi Hovsepian, M.D., uses his artistic talent and surgical skills to restore a more natural symmetrical appearance. He recognizes the importance of minimizing incisions and utilizes the "short scar" and other minimally invasive techniques. Dr. Hovsepian emphasizes the importance of a comfortable and caring patient experience with a rapid recovery. Chin Surgery

Before your procedure, Dr. Hovsepian and his aesthetic team will meet with you to make sure you understand your procedure and recovery thoroughly, as well as answer any questions you may have. Safety, privacy, comfort, and excellence in treatment with trusting compassionate care are the hallmark of Dr. Raffi Hovsepian’s patient experience.

Prior to coming into the Beverly Hills surgery center, you will need to begin fasting 8 hours prior to your procedure, which means you cannot eat or drink anything at all during this period, including chewing gum or drinking water. If you have been instructed by Dr. Hovsepian to take any medications in the morning, it is permitted with a few sips of water.

Chin augmentation (mentoplasty/genioplasty) surgery is performed under general anesthesia which means you will be completely asleep and feel nothing during surgery. The surgery is performed as an outpatient procedure, but some patients prefer an overnight stay. Out-of-town patients may stay in a near-by aftercare facility or hotel, where a "private duty" nurse is available.

The surgery itself generally takes one hour, although you should expect to spend extra time in the operating room if your procedure will focus on multiple areas. Afterward, you will return to your home, aftercare facility or hotel conveniently located a short distance from the surgical center.
